This Is Not a Government Office. This privately operated reference cannot retrieve, change, certify, or remove a criminal record. It also cannot run an official background check or accept a Washington vacation filing.
Need an Official Record?
Contact the office tied to the record type:
- Sheriff reports and local incident records: Columbia County Sheriff, 341 E. Main Street, Suite 1, Dayton, WA 99328; communications 509-382-2518; administration 509-382-1100; Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed noon to 1 p.m.
- Superior Court case files: Columbia County Clerk, 341 E. Main Street, Suite 2, Dayton, WA 99328; 509-382-4321; call before using fax because official sources conflict on the number.
- District and Dayton Municipal files: Columbia County District Court, 341 E. Main Street, Suite 4, Dayton, WA 99328; 509-382-4812; court@co.columbia.wa.us; office hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed noon to 1 p.m.
- Booking and current local custody: Walla Walla County Corrections, 300 W. Alder Street, Walla Walla, WA 99362; inmate line 509-524-5430; office 509-524-5431.
- Washington criminal history: Washington State Patrol Criminal Records Division through WATCH for a public name and date-of-birth search or WSP for a fingerprint-supported self-review.
- Federal self-record review: use the official FBI Identity History Summary process, which is distinct from WATCH and local court research.
- Vacation or sealing: file with the Columbia County court that entered the judgment; court staff can provide forms and procedure but cannot give legal advice.
The county courthouse is the main Columbia County records building, but each suite remains a separate custodian. Court files should not be sent through the county Public Records Act portal, and Walla Walla booking records should not be included in a Columbia Sheriff request.
